Karachi: A large number of students who entered from various education boards of Sindh failed in the entrance test held for admissions in University of Karachi.

The results of the students of government education boards of Sindh in the entrance test held for admissions in the University of Karachi have raised serious questions about the education system and the assessment of the boards. A large number of students who have passed intermediate in A1 and A grade from the boards have failed and the success ratio of the students of all these education boards is between 2% and 17%.

The performance of A-1 and A-grade students participating in Karachi Board, Cambridge and Aga Khan Education Board tests is significantly better, while the performance of A-1 and A-grade students of Ziauddin Board is also disappointing.

According to the data received by the Express from the University of Karachi Testing Service in this regard, on December 3, 2023, 116 students from Hyderabad who entered in A grade in the entry test for BS admissions under the testing service of University of Karachi, from A grade. 59 entering students participated in the test and 12 and 2 students passed respectively, thus 90% of A grade and 93% of A grade students failed the test.

Moreover, only 14 out of 201 participating students of A-grade of Larkana Education Board and only 2 students out of 89 participating in A-grade were successful and the success ratio of A-grade was 6.9 and the success ratio of A-grade students was 6.9. 2.2 percent.

22 out of 125 participants of A1 grade and only 3 out of 48 participants of A grade of Mirpur Khas passed the test, the success ratio of A1 grade was 17.6% and the success ratio of A grade was 6.25%.

11 out of 126 students appeared for A1 grade of Sukkur Board and only 3 students out of 114 appeared for A grade passed, the success ratio of A1 grade is 8.7% while the success ratio of A grade is 2.6%.

On the other hand, according to the data, 886 students who entered A-1 grade from Karachi Education Board participated in this test, out of which 600 students passed the test. The proportion of students participating in the grade is not much better.

Out of 1,959 A-grade students from Karachi Board, 607 passed the test and their success rate is about 31%.

It should be noted that education boards of Sindh, including Karachi, have been suffering from ad hocism for a long time and acting officers are working on key positions.

On the other hand, the students coming under the Cambridge system maintained their superiority and 38 out of 46 participants of A1 grade and 31 out of 55 participants of A grade were successful, the success ratio of these students is 82.2% and 56% respectively.

46 out of 53 students of A one grade and 22 out of 43 participants of A grade of Aga Khan board passed, the success ratio of these students is 86.7 percent and 51 percent respectively, although the number of participating students of these two educational boards is limited. .

Only 5 out of 57 A-grade students and 4 out of 143 A-grade students passed in Ziauddin Board working on private basis in Sindh and the result was 8.7% and 2.7% respectively.

57 out of 108 students of A-1 grade and 22 out of 99 A-grade students of Federal Board have succeeded, the result of these students was 53 and 22% respectively.
