Lahore: A committee has been established by the Muslim League-N to contact the independent candidates who were successful in the elections.
League party sources claim that PML-N has emerged as the largest party in Punjab and the Centre. The Muslim League-N as a party has won 73 seats in the National Assembly, while the PPP is in the second place as a political party with 53 seats in the National Assembly.

Muslim League-N has started practical steps to create “PDM-2” in the federation. On the instructions of party leader Nawaz Sharif, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has started contacts with former alliance parties. He also had a detailed meeting with PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari last night, in which a detailed discussion was held regarding the formation of a joint government in the federation and the issues of forming a joint government in Punjab were also discussed.
Apart from this, Shahbaz Sharif also contacted Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui of MQM Pakistan. Shahbaz Sharif will contact these personalities again today.

On the other hand, a committee has been set up by the PML-N to contact the independent candidates who were successful in the general elections, in which Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah and Ayaz Sadiq have also been included. Party sources say that on the direction of Shahbaz Sharif, the PML-N committee will contact the independent members, who will be formally invited and encouraged to join the PML-N.
Independent members who join PML-N will be given other incentives including the headship of ministries, various departments.
