Islamabad: Pakistan has imported food items worth 13 trillion 47 billion rupees during seven months (July to January).
During the first seven months (July to January) of the current financial year 2022-23, Pakistan has imported a total of 13 trillion 47 billion rupees worth of food and drink items, which is 6.29% more than the same period of the previous financial year.
According to the data released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics, 6 billion dollars have been spent on the import of goods, which is 6.29% more than the same period of the last financial year. In terms of rupees, it has increased by 40% compared to last year.
Last year, from July to January, Pakistan imported food items worth 958 billion rupees, while this year, the volume of the same period has exceeded 1347 billion rupees.
