Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, has made an important decision before the election in the United States that the images created with the help of artificial intelligence uploaded on social media will be marked.
The company will highlight the label ‘Imaged with AI’ with photo-realistic images created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).
A foreign news agency According to the report The aim of this initiative is to prevent fake images and misinformation of celebrities and opposition candidates on the occasion of elections and to inform users that the said images are not real but computer generated.
Although the tech giant is apparently working with other industry partners to establish a global standard for marking content (video, audio and images) created with AI tools from other companies, it is not possible with current technology. It is clear that Meta can only label images that have been generated by its own AI image generator (Lama).
Metta’s president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, did not specify when the labels would be revealed, but hinted that they would be introduced in the coming months and in different languages.
