Karachi: The fact-finding committee set up to inquire into the disputed results of Inter-year 1 has expanded the scope of the investigation and started the examination of the examined examination copies and in this regard has taken into custody the examination copies of four different subjects which were examined. It will be conducted by experts in the relevant subjects.

These experts will evaluate the marks given by the examiner and head examiner on the copies, moreover, the passing percentage of different scientific subjects has also been requested from the IT department of Inter Board Karachi.

In this regard, on Wednesday, the fact-finding committee established by the caretaker chief minister of Sindh, headed by the vice-chancellor of NED, Dr. Sarosh Lodhi, also held a several-hour-long meeting at Interboard Karachi.

Higher Secondary Education Board Karachi sources told “Express” that the committee has taken into custody a total of 256 examination copies of the subjects of Physics, Mathematics, Zoology and Botany, including 64/64 copies of each subject.

The inter-year 1st exam copies of the students of the colleges that have been seized include those of Govt DJ Science College, Adam G Science College and PECHS Govt College among others.

According to the sources, the seized exam copies are being photocopied in the first phase and the experts who will examine these copies will be provided photocopies of the exam copy instead of the original.

Some exam copies will not even have the marks given by the examiner or head examiner, but will be “whitewashed” so that the marks given by the examiner cannot influence the experts examining the copies. Inspect with an open mind.

In this regard, the fact-finding committee has also decided to hire college as well as university teachers for related subjects and this exercise will start in the inter-board the day after the general elections in the country.

Apart from this, it is also known that the committee has given the passing percentage of the students who passed and failed in the first year of Inter Board Karachi in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany from the IT Department. Marks ratio details have also been sought.

It should be noted that earlier the record rooms/faculties sections and IT section of Inter Board Karachi were sealed for transparent investigation by the committee.

It should be remembered that caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (Rtd) Maqbool Baqir, after the failure of a large number of students in the inter-year 1st results and the continuous protest by the students, headed by Vice Chancellor of NED University Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi on Saturday. A three-member fact-finding committee was established on February 3, which includes Sindh HEC Secretary Moin Siddiqui and IBA Executive Director Dr. Akbar Zaidi.
