Lahore: IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that the Punjab Police is on the alert for the peaceful conduct of the elections and we will thwart the nefarious intentions of anti-national elements.
According to the details, a full dress rehearsal was conducted for checking the security arrangements of the Punjab Police regarding the election 2024.
The spokesperson of Punjab Police said that a full dress rehearsal of security, traffic and logistics arrangements was conducted in all regions and districts of the province including Lahore, including safe delivery of election materials, deployment of police personnel at polling stations and clusters, CCT. Monitoring of V cameras was reviewed.
According to the police spokesperson, senior police officers briefed the responsibilities of the personnel assigned on polling duty, while special blockades and search and sweep operations were also conducted across the province. Rehearsals were reviewed while flag marches were also organized in all districts including Lahore. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the purpose of full dress rehearsal and other measures is to further highlight the sense of security among the citizens, the arrangements of Punjab Police are complete for the peaceful conduct of elections.
He said that in view of the current situation in the country, the police should be on high alert, they will thwart the nefarious intentions of anti-national elements, the Punjab Police will ensure law and order in collaboration with other institutions on Election Day and affect law and order. Legal action will be taken against the anti-peace elements.
