Karachi: After the rain in the city, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab appealed to the people to stay at home.
According to Express News, after the heavy rain in Karachi on Saturday night, the situation worsened in various areas and the roads started to show the appearance of rivers and streams, which affected the flow of traffic badly.
Nipa Chowrangi, Hasan Square, Liaquatabad No. 10, Abul Hasan Isfahani Road, Korangi Expressway, Shahrah Faisal, Tariq Road, New Karachi Sindhi Hotel, Sakhi Hasan, Nagan Chowrangi, Five Star Chowrangi, Shaheen Complex and other roads have accumulated rain water.
Thousands of citizens’ motorcycles were damaged by rainwater and they pushed their motorcycles to their destination on foot.
After the rain, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab went on a city tour. He inspected II Chandrigar Road, Pakistan Chowk, Burns Road.
Murtaza Wahab said that it is still raining intermittently in different areas, citizens should not leave their homes unnecessarily.
He said that drainage work is going on in different areas of the city. Power supply has been restored at the PIDC pumping station. Four pumping stations in Lyari are being run on generators.
