Peshawar: Before the general elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, political figures have received threats.
According to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), 15 political figures have received threats from extremists in the context of the general elections in the province.
It has been mentioned in the list that former Member of National Assembly Mohsin Dawar has received threats from extremists. Apart from them, former provincial minister Imtiaz Qureshi and senator Hidayatullah are also included in this list. Ex-member of National Assembly of PML-N Amir Maqam has also been threatened by extremists.
Leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Pir Masoor Shah and Shah Muhammad are also among those who have received threats. JUI-F’s Malik Adnan Wazir and Ehsanullah have also been threatened. Apart from this, Senator Bakhti Afsar and Senator Maulana Abdul Rasheed have also received threats from the extremists.
The police of all the districts have been informed about the threats received by the political figures, after which the police of the respective districts will provide security to the political figures.
