The Lahore High Court directed the School Education Department to re-register private schools, private schools will ensure that 50 percent of children travel from home to school on buses.
According to Express News, Justice Shahid Karim issued a written order for the hearing on the petitions filed for remedying the smog, in which it is said that the court had ordered the school education department to purchase buses for the children of private schools two years ago. The school education department did not implement this order.
The court also stopped the planting of palm trees on the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway, the court issued instructions to the Motorway, Forest Department, PHA, National Highway and Housing Societies.
In the written order, it is said that according to the judicial member, the campaign to plant trees on the roofs has started, plants and gardens are being made on the roofs of the colleges.
The court also issued cleaning orders to the LWMC department in the Johar Town area and also issued an order to plant saplings around the expo center after cleaning.
