Mumbai: The one-acre bungalow of Raj Kapoor, the first superstar of Bollywood’s famous Kapoor family, has been sold.
Indian media Reports According to the actor Raj Kapoor’s one-bedroom bungalow in Mumbai, private housing society Godrej Properties has bought it for INR 100 crore.
Godrej Properties will convert this bungalow into a housing project worth Rs 500 crore. Perujsha Godrej, Executive Chairman of Godrej Properties says, ‘The size of this entire land is one acre. We will build an expensive housing project here. The value of this project will be up to 500 crores.
Godrej Properties has bought this bungalow from Raj Kapoor’s family. In this regard, Raj Kapoor’s son Randhir Kapoor says that ‘Our family has a lot of feelings for the property in Chembur, it also has a historical status. We are grateful to Godrej Properties for developing this historical heritage of ours.’
It may be recalled that earlier in 2019, Godrej Properties had also bought ‘RK Studio’ of the Kapoor family.
It should be noted that Raj Kapoor, born in the year 1924 in Peshawar, Pakistan, was the first Bollywood superstar from the Kapoor family. Raj Kapoor’s house in Peshawar was bought by the provincial government and preserved as a historical heritage.
