Karachi: Financial irregularities of Rs 8 crore have been revealed in Sindh Human Rights Department.
Human Rights Minister Umar Soomro sent the matter of corruption in crores of funds released for Human Rights Compliance Cell to Anti-Corruption. According to the documents in this regard, corruption was done on a large scale in the purchase of computers, servers, CCTV monitoring, scanners, devices, Windows license and other equipment.
The Human Rights Minister says that all these goods were bought during the tenure of former Human Rights Secretary Javed Sibghatullah Mehr. There has been massive corruption in the Human Rights Department’s Complaint Management Cell. The matter has been sent to anti-corruption, a case will be registered against the involved officers and an investigation will be conducted.
According to the documents, goods worth more than 5 crores have been written in the papers, but they have not been purchased.
