Karachi: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that he strongly condemns the killing of MQM worker in the clash with PPP in Nazimabad and expresses regret to his family.
Addressing the press conference at Noorhaq Institute, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that where were the law enforcement agencies during the open firing and display of weapons in Nazimabad? Plans are being made to set the city on fire once again. Jamaat-e-Islami will also contact DG Rangers and IG Sindh regarding ensuring law and order and a peaceful election environment.
Hafiz Naeem said that Karachi cannot once again afford the politics of encirclement, killings and hatred. Attempts are being made to influence the elections and reduce voter turnout by disrupting the law and order situation in the city. The evil elements have started raising their heads again.
He said that he strongly condemns the killing of an MQM worker in a dispute between PPP and MQM workers in Nazimabad and expresses his condolences to the family of the deceased. We demand a judicial inquiry into the incident and bring the culprits to justice.
Hafiz Naeem said that fraud and terrorism will not be accepted. The Election Commission is responsible for deploying the army and rangers outside the polling station on February 8 to deal with any emergency and ensure a peaceful environment before the polls so that voters can cast their votes freely.
Hafiz Naeemur Rahman said that he is grateful to the people of Karachi who participated in lakhs and made the “Karachi Declaration Rally” a historic rally at Bagh Jinnah Ground. Yesterday’s rally has set the course for the February 8 election. Jamaat-e-Islami swept the municipal elections in Central District and secured maximum number of seats from other areas of the city.
