Rawalpindi: The first snowfall of winter has also started in Malika Kohsar Murree while the snowfall in other upper regions of the country continues for the second day.
Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi visited various areas including Jhika Gali, Kashmir Point, Mall Road and Kaldana and reviewed the arrangements in detail. DC Murry later also visited the control room where all personnel and machinery are operational.
Personnel from various departments are present at facility centers to provide assistance and guidance, along with snow removal machinery.
According to DC Murree, the administration has taken measures to remove snow from the roads where salt is also being sprinkled, so far Murree has received 0.5 inches of snow and traffic is flowing normally. All administrative bodies are active in the field.
On the other hand, rains in Balakot and surrounding areas and snowfall in Kaghan Valley have continued since late night, bringing an end to the cold weather and drought.
8 inches in Shogran, more than a foot in Saripai, Naran and adjoining valleys. After the snowfall, the temperature in Naran reached minus 4, Kaghan minus 2 and Shogran reached minus 1.
After the longest drought in Neelam Valley, snowfall continued for the second day. Upper Neelum valley sub-valley Grace, Sargan and Shontar communication lines have been closed. According to the meteorological department, the rain and snowfall will continue for the next two days.
