Karachi: The area turned into a battlefield due to clashes between PTI workers and the police near Clifton Tan Talwar. Several personnel including SH Obot Bissan and a lady police officer were injured due to stone pelting by PTI workers, traffic flow was badly affected.
On Sunday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had announced a rally from Shahrah-e-Quaidin to Mazar-e-Quaid, but on Sunday morning, the spokesperson of Tehreek-e-Insaf announced the organization of a ceremony at Tin Talwar, where the candidates of all the constituencies of Karachi will participate in the rally. When the PTI workers reached Clifton Tin Talwar in large numbers to participate in the rally, a heavy police force was already deployed there. They got angry.
When the police tried to disperse them, the PTI workers started pelting stones and attacked the police with sticks, as a result of which several officials, including SHO Boat Basin Riaz Niazi, were injured, who were immediately shifted to the hospital.

DIG South Asad Raza, while taking notice of the misbehavior of journalists and cameramen, said that such incidents cannot be tolerated. He said that action will be taken against the journalists by identifying those responsible for the violence.
The police asked the leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaaf whether they had taken permission to hold the event, to which the PTI leaders said that it was an election campaign, so permission was not necessary, after which the police PTI workers were given time to clear the road till 4:30 PM, but PTI rallies continued to come from different areas.
Several requests were made by the police to clear the road. In the first phase, the police detained some of the workers, then when other workers tried to free their colleagues, the police charged them with batons and dispersed them by shelling. The PTI activists damaged the police vehicles and seriously injured a policeman by pelting stones.
Meanwhile, PTI workers pelted stones on a mobile phone, which injured several policemen, during the clashes between PTI workers and the police, 5 policemen Rashid Awan son of Ghulam Hasan, Deen Muhammad son of Muhammad Rahim, Khalil Habib were hit by stones and sticks. Son of Ghulam Habib, Muhammad Faizan son of Mushtaq and Ijaz Shah son of Alam Nabi were injured and brought to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.
At the same time, a lady police officer, Syed Areqa, wife of Abdul Rahim, who became unconscious due to tear gas shelling, was also brought to Jinnah Hospital.
SSP South Sajid Amir Saduzai told Express that no prior permission was taken by PTI to hold a rally in Clifton, the workers had blocked the road, on which the police asked them to clear the road. But attacked with stones and sticks, as a result of which more than 10 police personnel including SHO Bot Besan, lady SHO were injured. They said that SHO Bot Besan’s jaw was broken and his condition is critical.
According to SP Clifton Uzair Ahmed, a case will be registered against those who attacked the police under terrorism and other provisions.

He said that PTI people are peaceful, we want to conduct our election campaign in a peaceful manner, for 27 years we have been running the peace movement, the administration should not disturb the peace movement.
Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shahnawaz Jadoon said that the police is ours, the police should remove the obstacles, the peaceful rally should be allowed to go towards its destination. He said that people of Karachi be ready on 8th date is the day of revolution.
PTI leader Amjad Afridi said that it is our right to conduct the election campaign, the people of Karachi should not suffer from any fear, the idols of fear are broken, the activists strongly condemn the police behavior on arrests and violence.
