Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is likely to receive rain and snowfall from today till January 31.
According to the Meteorological Department, intermittent rains and snowfall are expected to start in the province from today till January 31. In this regard, PDMA has issued a letter to all district administrations to remain alert.
According to DG PDMA Mohammad Qaiser Khan, the district administration has been instructed to take precautionary measures in view of possible rains and snowfall. The district administration has been asked to ensure the availability of small and heavy machinery.
The post further states that there is a possibility of reduction in fog in urban areas. Tourists and local population in the sensitive upper areas have been asked to be aware of the weather conditions and take precautionary measures. In case of any emergency, all the concerned organizations should be vigilant in the maintenance of road links. Passengers should be warned in advance on provincial and national highways in sensitive areas. Meanwhile, availability of emergency services personnel should be ensured.
