Islamabad;  2 accused of running illegal currency exchange arrested

Islamabad: FIA took action and arrested 2 suspects involved in buying and selling of foreign currency and recovered huge amount of foreign currency from them.

According to the spokesperson of FIA, the Commercial Banking Circle Islamabad took action and arrested two suspects, Waseem Akhtar and Fida Hussain, who were running illegal currency exchange.

40,650 Euros, 3,050 US Dollars, 1,515 British Pounds, 2,330 Saudi Riyals, 2,900 Dirhams, 715 Turkish Liras, 261 Malaysian Ringgits and 5.7 Lakh Pakistani Rupees were recovered from the arrested suspects.

According to the FIA ​​spokesman, the accused were arrested from Kalrasidaan Rawat, while the value of foreign and domestic currency recovered from them is more than 2 crore rupees.

The Federal Investigation Agency has obtained a 2-day remand of the accused and they are being further investigated.
