Peshawar: Policemen and government officials were killed in the incidents of target killing in the city.
According to the police, unknown persons opened fire and targeted Constable Kamran Taj son of Malik Taj Sukna Gulbela in Dawoodzai’s Galbela area.
Kamran Taj was posted as a computer operator at Thana Khan Raziq Shaheed (Kabli). As soon as the incident was reported, SP Rural Division Zafar Ahmed Khan along with other police officers immediately reached the spot. The police collected important evidence from the crime scene and started a comprehensive investigation on various aspects in the light of witness statements.
SP Rural Division Zafar Ahmed Khan said that Shaheed Constable Kamran had come to drop his children to the school van. The assailants fled on foot in the fields after firing. A search operation is underway to arrest the attackers. Checks on blockades across the city have been tightened.
The second incident took place in Gulbahar where a social welfare officer was killed by firing on a government vehicle. An officer of the Social Welfare Department was fired upon near Ishrat Cinema Chowk. He had left home for duty when unknown armed motorcyclists opened fire on him.
