Punjab: Use of artificial intelligence to catch motorcycle riders without helmets

Lahore: In Punjab, the use of artificial intelligence has been started to catch motorcycle riders without helmets.

According to Punjab Police spokesperson, Safe Cities Authority has developed a first-of-its-kind software to track motorcycle riders without helmets. In this regard, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that CCTV cameras of Punjab Safe Cities Authority will identify those riding motorcycles without helmets with the help of software. Punjab Police is ensuring enforcement of traffic rules through artificial intelligence based advanced technology.

Helmetless motorcyclists traced by the software will be fined. The artificial intelligence based software was developed by SSP Rafat Bukhari under the leadership of MD Safe Cities Ahsan Younis, with the use of which citizens will follow traffic rules more seriously.

According to the orders of the Lahore High Court, a fine of 02 thousand rupees has to be paid for riding a motorcycle without a helmet. Make sure to wear a helmet to avoid accidents and heavy fines while traveling in the city.
