'Majority' of Arts and Commerce students fail after controversial inter-board science results

Karachi: Parents and students are very worried. The reaction of the caretaker chief minister of Sindh has further increased the frustration of the students, while the vice chancellors of major government universities have also expressed their concerns.

According to the details, students and parents have been protesting for a week after the majority of students failed in the first year results of Inter Board Karachi. On the issue of controversial results, Governor Sindh Kamran Tasuri said that it is a matter of concern that 64 percent of Karachi’s students have failed in the 11th standard, no one will accept these results.

80% of candidates failed in inter-arts first year regular and 72% candidates failed in inter-arts first year private while 63% candidates failed in commerce private first year while admission to universities is based on results of inter.

In this regard, Vice Chancellor of NED University, Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi, while talking to Express, said that the results of the Inter Board are momentary and it is regrettable that the examinations should be re-examined.

He said that during the corona virus, the result of Cambridge examinations was bad, after strong protest of students and parents, the result was reconsidered, the students were satisfied, similarly, the results of the 11th class of Interboard should also be reconsidered.

Vice Chancellor of Sirsyed University Prof. Dr. Waliuddin while talking to Express said that the results of Interboard are very bad and these students show good performance when they take the entrance test in our university and it needs to be properly analyzed.

He further said that the entrance test results of major universities of Karachi and the board results of the same students should be compared. It should be remembered that Commissioner Karachi and Chairman Inter Board Saleem Rajput has said that the marks will be re-totaled in the scrutiny of the copies of ten students who have scored more than 80% marks in the matric. Not only the students are protesting against the results, but different political parties have also demanded justice for the students and cancellation of the results.
