Islamabad: During the hearing of the contempt election commission case against Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry, the member of the commission KP has remarked that it is not important, people know the founder of PTI.
A 4-member commission headed by Election Commission member Sindh Nisar Durrani heard the contempt of election commission case against founding chairman PTI Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry, in which lawyers Shoaib Shaheen and Faisal Chaudhry appeared.
Lawyer Shoaib Shaheen took a stand before the commission that he has come to attend as per your order. I request that the hearing be adjourned. Statements and evidence of witnesses are to be recorded. Keep the hearing after February 8. Until the elections, the commission is also busy. There is an impression that the commission is against a party, to which the KPK member replied that we are not a party.
Shoaib Shaheen said that Section 144 has been imposed in various places. They are going to Dahey not to hold a rally. Elections come after 5 years. Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s election symbol was also taken away, on which the KPK member remarked that elections can be fought without a bat. Shoaib Shaheen said how to explain this to the people. Member of Election Commission KPK replied that every poster of Shoaib has pictures of founder PTI. Not unimportantly, people know the founder PTI.
Later, the Election Commission postponed the hearing of the contempt Election Commission case against the PTI founder till February 20.
Hearing of contempt election case against Fawad Chaudhry
Meanwhile, the hearing of the contempt Election Commission case against Fawad Chaudhry was conducted by a 4-member commission headed by member Nisar Durrani, in which lawyer Faisal Chaudhry requested to postpone the hearing. Member Election Commission Ikramullah Khan said that Fawad Chaudhry’s response to the show cause notice has not been submitted till date, upon which Faisal Chaudhry requested for more time to submit the response to the show cause notice. The commission gave Fawad Chaudhry time till February 21 to submit his reply to the show cause notice.
Later, the commission accepted the adjournment request of lawyer Faisal Chaudhry and postponed the hearing of the contempt Election Commission case till February 21.
