General Elections: Section 144 enforced till February 12 across Punjab

Lahore: The Punjab Home Department has issued a notification for the implementation of Section 144 throughout the province to maintain law and order situation in the election.

According to the details, in the notification issued by the Punjab Home Department, it has been stated that the display of all types of weapons will be banned under Section 144.

According to the notification, there will be a complete ban on firing during election campaigns and elections, while section 144 will also be enforced for violation of the code of conduct of elections.

In view of the fear of clashes between the candidates and their supporters in connection with the general elections, the Punjab Home Department has immediately implemented Section 144, which will remain in force until February 12.
