Khyber: Torkham border crossing has been opened for commercial activities after 10 days of closure.
According to customs sources, the first cargo vehicle from Afghanistan entered Pakistan after the opening of the border crossing while Afghan drivers have been given time till March 31 to produce travel documents.
Sources say that from April 1, cargo vehicles without travel documents will be prohibited from entering Pakistan. This decision has been reached between the Afghan Consul General in Peshawar and the Pakistani authorities. Travel documents for cargo vehicles were decided by the federal government, which began to be implemented on January 13 when Afghan authorities closed the border to trade.
