Elections will be held in both the constituencies, the election process should be continued, instructions of the Chief Election Commissioner

Islamabad: The Election Commission canceled the notifications of the returning officers for postponing the elections in two National Assembly constituencies NA-83 and NA-85.

The Chief Election Commissioner directed that elections will be held in both constituencies and the election process should continue.

The Election Commission heard a petition against postponing the elections due to the death of candidates in NA-83 and NA-85 Sargodha.

The petitioner and PML-N candidate Zulfikar Ali Bhatti appeared before the Election Commission and said that the death certificate of the deceased candidate is dated January 15, while on investigation it was found that Sadiq Ali died on January 2 and the funeral prayer on January 3. Hoo, in this case there has been a forgery.

DRO Sargodha said that the inquiry has proved that Sadiq Ali died on January 2.

Returning officer NA 85 said that we were provided with a fake death certificate.

The Chief Election Commissioner canceled the notifications of the Returning Officers for postponing the elections while directing the DC Sargodha to take action against the Secretary Union Council.
