Injections for CT scan are not available in major government hospitals in Karachi.
Patients are injected with contrast for a CT scan.
Sources say that Dow Ojha Campus, Civil and Jinnah Hospitals are not getting contrast injections, patients are being instructed to bring injections for CT scan from outside.
In the market, the contrast injection is being sold at a higher price, the injection available for 3 to 4 thousand rupees is available for 8 thousand rupees.
The hospital administration says that there is a shortage of injections due to a decrease in imports, and they are trying to solve the problem soon.
Caretaker Health Minister of Sindh Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz while talking to ‘Jeo News’ said that there is no knowledge of lack of contrast injection in many government hospitals, if injection is not available then it is a serious situation.
Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz said that he will take the details regarding the contrast injection soon.
