Punjab Cabinet;  4 billion sanctioned for election arrangements and security

Lahore: The Punjab Cabinet has approved the release of funds of Rs 4.10 billion for fool-proof arrangements and security of the elections.

The 36th meeting of the Punjab Cabinet was held in the Chief Minister’s Office under the chairmanship of the Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, Mohsin Naqvi said in the meeting that all parties and independent candidates will be allowed to conduct free and fair elections. The situation will be confirmed.

He said that in the light of the code of conduct of the Election Commission, all the candidates will be allowed to hold rallies, conduct door-to-door campaigns and put up banners and posters. All parties will be provided with a level playing field. Action will be taken, free and fair election is my responsibility which I will fulfill in any case, I will fully cooperate with the Election Commission to ensure the conduct of general elections in a peaceful and free environment.

In the cabinet meeting, the release of funds of Rs. 4 billion 10 crores was approved for foolproof arrangements and security of the general elections. In the meeting, funds of Rs. 8 billion were approved for the establishment of Punjab Cancer Care Hospital in Manawan, Lahore. During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi stopped the implementation of the proposal to increase the lab test fee in major hospitals.
