Karachi: Kharadar police arrested the accused who bought and sold newborn babies, the police also recovered a newborn girl from the accused.
SHO Kharadar Agha Rasheed said that the accused Fatima had bought a newborn baby girl from a village in Thatta for 2 lakh rupees, which the accused had come to Karachi with the intention of selling. But the accused was arrested and the newborn girl was recovered.
He said that in the initial investigation, the accused has revealed that she bought and sold 8 children while she is a resident of Lyari, the accused used to buy newborn babies from hospitals and villages, the police will also determine the people who sold the children in the investigation. And legal action will be taken against them.
The police have handed over the recovered newborn baby girl to the Edhi Foundation, while the accused Fatima has been handed over to the custody of the Women Police.
The police have registered a case against the accused in the complaint of the government and further investigation is being conducted regarding the sale and purchase of newborn babies.
