Islamabad: A fake WhatsApp account created with the name and photo of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has come to light.
In an explanatory statement from the spokesperson of the Election Commission, it has been said that the use of a fake WhatsApp account with the name and picture of the Chief Election Commissioner has been revealed.
The spokesperson said that the public should be aware of fake accounts created in the name of the Chief Election Commissioner and the messages spread by them and ignore them.

On the other hand, caretaker Federal Minister for Information Murtaza Solangi said in his message on the social networking site Twitter, “As we are getting closer to the elections, such tactics are increasing”.
He said that now the Chief Election Commissioner is being targeted, fake news is the biggest threat to democracy and journalism today.
