According to Express News, the full bench of the Lahore High Court headed by Justice Ali Baqer Najafi heard the election writ petitions. A hearing was held on the petition against the rejection of papers of former Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi, his wife Qaisara Elahi and son Monis Elahi and others.
Pervaiz Elahi’s lawyer Shehzad Shaukat argued and said that the nomination papers have been accused of concealing facts, the nomination papers have alleged that seven arms licenses are not mentioned, the nomination papers have also been accused of not having a special account. .
The lawyer said that according to the law, there are things recorded in the papers, they will try to snatch the nomination papers, Pervez Elahi is a senior politician, he should be allowed to contest the election.
Advocate Pervez Elahi said that our confirmer and recommender was arrested, Amjad Pervez was detained when he was going to submit the nomination papers of Advocate Pervez Elahi.
Justice Ali Baqir Najafi asked the lawyer that it was the responsibility of the Election Commission to issue timely orders. Did you submit any complaint to the Election Commission?
Lawyer Pervaiz Elahi said that we approached the court and after the court orders we were allowed to go to the RO office.
Later, on completion of the hearing, a three-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqer Najafi reserved the decision which was pronounced after some time. The court rejected Parvez Elahi’s appeal while allowing his wife Qaisara Elahi’s appeal and allowed her to contest the election.
