More than 100 candidates in the field for Vice Chancellor of Urdu University

Karachi: More than 100 candidates from across the country have entered the race for the vice chancellor of the Federal Urdu University and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has received 111 applications directly and indirectly or nominations from the entire country including Sindh on the portal.

After the summary review of these applications, the first meeting of the search committee for scrutiny is being held on Friday.

A very close and trusted source of HEC Chairman and Convener of the Search Committee, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, told “Express” that among the educationists who have been nominated by other education experts, former Vice Chancellor of Iqra University. The nomination of Dr. Waseem Qazi has come from the Coordinator General COMSTEC Islamabad and former Director of HEJ Prof. Dr. Iqbal Chaudhry.

Some other people including Dr. Ajtabi Shah, Dr. Ehsan Elahi William have also been nominated by some researchers, more specifically the applications of Professor Dr. AZ Hilali, Dr. Sohail Hameed, Dr. Ahmed Qadri for 65 years till the fixed date of 29th December. Rejected on the grounds of overage.

Other candidates include Dr. Ziauddin, Dr. Gohar Mehr, Asif Ali, Dr. Muhammad Zahid, Iqbal Afridi, Dr. Nusrat Idris, Dr. Meh Jabin Ziauddin, Mudassar Ghafoor, Shahzad Murtaza, Dr. Samar Sultana, Dr. Rubina Farooq, Mehnaz Hasan Vice. Among the candidates for the chancellor are:

Javed Iqbal, Zarina Ali, Dr. Khalid Mustafa, Abdul Qadir Buzdar, Dr. Farooq Hasan, Dr. Madad Ali Shah, Kamran Azim, Masood Mashkoor, Imran Jami, Mudassar Izhar, Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Rubina Mushtaq, Minhaj Al Hasan, Arif Zubair, Javed Iqbal Qazi. , Akram Sheikh, Tahir Khalili, Rukhsar Ahmed and Shafiqur Rahman among others are also candidates for the post of Vice Chancellor.

According to HEC sources, the criteria for marking the merit of the candidates will be 7 marks for PhD, 15 for Professional and Leadership Experience, 7 for Publications, 8 for Financial Management and Strategic Plan. 10 marks for Urdu University while 50 marks for interview have been reserved.

According to sources, since the Chairman HEC is leaving soon on a foreign visit, the interviews of the candidates will be held on January 25 and thereafter on his return home.
