The work will be completed in three phases up to the nursery, leaving local shopkeepers and residents unhappy
The Karachi Development Authority has started the construction of the boundary wall from the airport to make Shahr Quaid happy and to change the map of Shariah Faisal.
Up to the nursery, this work should be completed in three phases, but local shopkeepers and residents are unhappy.
On the direction of the Chief Minister of Sindh, Shariah Faisal is being beautified, which is the biggest road in Shahr Quaid.
Director General KDA Naveed Anwar Siddiqui while talking to Express in his office said that in the first phase, a boundary wall of 1 km from the airport to Drug Road will be built, which will cost 20 crore rupees.
The DG of Building Control has also been instructed regarding the renovation of the green belt within these limits. Later it was extended to a nursery.
He said that the airport will create a good impression among foreigners or people coming from other provinces.
In this regard, a meeting was held with Mayor Karachi and Commissioner Karachi. We will take this project to 4 kilometers in the second phase, which will be from Drug Road to Flyover.
In the third phase, there will be a project of approximately 18 km from Metropole to Nursery. The first phase will be completed this month, while the second phase will take a month. Visitors coming from the airport will now be able to see the cultural buildings of Daru, Harappa and Sindh, painted on the wall, but painters, carpenters and residents of the area have complained about the loss of business even where the wall has been improved in terms of security.
Malik Hamayan, President of Auto Parts Union complained to the Express and said that the business has been severely affected due to this boundary wall. It’s done.
Residents of the area said that the wall is good for beauty, but it would be better if this money was invested in the improvement of the city.
On the other hand, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab said while talking to Express, the construction of the boundary wall will give a positive and beautiful impression of Karachi, instead of wall chalking, unnecessary advertisements and pan stains. The first phase of the wall construction will be completed this month while the project will be completed in three phases.
