According to Sindh government sources, a summary sent in this regard was approved by the Sindh Chief Minister on Monday, the notification of which is yet to be done.
According to the summary approved by the caretaker chief minister of Sindh, the three-member committee investigating the matter consists of vice-chancellors, in which vice-chancellor of NED University Prof. Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi, vice-chancellor of Sindh Madrasah-ul-Islam University Dr. Mujeeb Sehrai. And the Vice Chancellor of Dow Medical University, Dr. Saeed Qureshi.
It should be noted that there are some serious allegations against the vice-chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur and allegedly an indecent video of him went viral on social media after which the situation in Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur was bad.
A protest was being held by the teachers and employees in this regard, while a letter was sent to the caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh on behalf of the university’s teachers’ association, in which he was asked to investigate the matter.
This demand and protest continued to gain momentum, after which the sources say that the caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh had asked for suggestions from Sindh HEC Chairman Dr. It was recommended to form a committee.
A summary containing the same recommendations was sent by the Sindh HEC to the Sindh Chief Minister after which the Sindh Chief Minister directed the Vice Chancellor Jamia Shah Abdul Latif to go on leave until the inquiry is completed.
It should be remembered that the General Secretary of the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPWASA) Pakistan and the President of Shah Latif University Teachers Association Prof. Dr. Akhtar Ali Ghamro and the Secretary of the Association Prof. Dr. Hussamuddin Shaikh informed the caretaker Chief Minister on this matter. Sindh Justice (Rtd) Maqbool Baqir had demanded an immediate investigation by removing the vice chancellor from the post.
Talking to “Express”, General Secretary of FAPWASA and President of Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur, Dr. Ghamro said that the alleged video of the Vice-Chancellor has come to light, after which the Association in a letter sent to the Chief Minister of Sindh. The teachers’ president and general secretary have taken a stand to take serious and immediate notice of the alleged indecent video of the vice chancellor.
In the letter, the Caretaker Chief Minister was further told that the reputation of Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur has been severely damaged by this video in which the Vice Chancellor is apparently involved. There are also serious risks.
This video is shocking to the students, teachers and common people of the university and everyone has serious reservations about it. And an impartial investigation should be conducted.
On the other hand, the position of the university administration was that the vice chancellor has declared this video as fake and has said that this video has been made using technology, many people from inside and outside the university are involved in it. The vice chancellor is asked to accommodate them in the style of the previous administration.
