Islamabad: In the level playing field case, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa remarked that do you want us to say that 100% of the nomination papers of Tehreek-e-Insaf candidates should be approved.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa heard the Tehreek-e-Insaf’s level playing field case.
The court adjourned the hearing till next Monday while seeking a written response from PTI on the reports of Election Commission and Chief Secretary Punjab. The court directed that Election Commission and Chief Secretary Punjab can submit their reply if they want.
During the hearing, the Chief Justice remarked that tell us what is wrong in the report? If there is any misrepresentation in the written replies of Chief Secretary Punjab, tell us in writing, not verbally. Don’t spread words, tell us what order to issue for you, if you don’t trust any institution of the country, then tell us, we will give the order.
The Chief Justice said that we should not share our grievances, to which PTI lawyer Latif Khosa said that the whole world knows what is happening to us. The Chief Justice of Pakistan said that we are showing ourselves to the world by showing the court proceedings live.
“We want a level playing field but Article 144 has been implemented while their candidates have not,” Vikahill PTI said.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan remarked that what do you mean by their candidates, Article 144 is not only for one party but for all political parties. Do you want to say that PML-N is conspiring against PPP and JUI-F?
The lawyer PTI Hamid Khan said that the election mark case should be set for hearing the day after tomorrow, on which the Chief Justice said that it is fine, we are setting it for the hearing the day after tomorrow, most of the applications are coming from PTI and Sunny is also going, a case has to be filed and not even coming to the court.
The Chief Justice made it clear that conducting elections is the work of the Election Commission and not ours, whether documents are being taken from anyone or whatever is happening, the Election Commission has to see. We had made it clear that the date of the elections is the work of the President and the Election Commission Why should the court hear matters related to the jurisdiction of the Election Commission?
