Karachi: The police foiled the attempt to seize 17 acres of land in Korangi Zaman town and arrested 8 land mafia operatives.
According to Express News, the armed operatives of land mafia tried to occupy 17 acres of land near Korangi Creek near Korangi Zaman Town police station, but the police reached the spot and arrested 8 operatives of the mafia while the leader of the mafia and other people. They escaped from there.
According to the police, among the arrested accused are Kamran Abbas, Abid Hussain, Syed Nauman, Subhan, Rizwan, Naveed Ahmed and Ghulam Hussain.
According to the plaintiff’s case, the armed accused arrived to seize 17 acres of land located on Korangi Creek between 4 pm and 4:30 pm, the gunman took him hostage and threatened to kill him. Succeeded in arresting him.
According to the police, investigation has been started by registering a case number 22/2024 against the accused and raids are on to arrest the main accused including the ringleader of the land mafia.
Sources say that the operatives of the land mafia with the connivance of the Board of Revenue Department prepare fake documents and occupy the lands day in and day out, but the caretaker government of Sindh and the police seem helpless in front of the occupation mafia.
