Karachi: The Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Finance Terrorism Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered an anti-money laundering case against the accused who committed e-fraud of more than Rs 14 crore.
According to Express News, sources said that a case has been registered against the accused for purchasing property with fraudulent money, the property purchased through money laundering includes a flat, a plot in Gulshan Iqbal and a shop in Naaz Plaza.
He said that both the accused along with their families and other accused bought various items through e-commerce with credit cards and canceled the order and received the money back.
On the other hand, in response to multiple advices from the merchants, only one settlement amount was received, the accused used their accounts in different branches of the private bank to collect the remaining amount. 14 crore 20 lakh rupees was damaged.
FIA filed an FIR on the complaint of a private bank after an investigation by the Cybercrime Circle Karachi, the FIR was transferred to the Money Laundering Circle for investigation under anti-money laundering provisions.
