Islamabad:
The Federal Ministry of Health has warned that 14 environmental samples of polio virus have tested positive across the country.
According to a report by the official news agency APP, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health said that the virus was present in three samples of sewage and these samples were obtained from Peshawar between December 4 and 13.
The report stated that two samples were collected from Hyderabad, two from Karachi East and one each from Karachi Central, Kemari, Karachi West, Sukkur, Quetta, Kohat and Islamabad.
The spokesman said that children can be protected from polio virus only through permanent vaccination, he urged the parents to give anti-polio drops to children during every vaccination campaign.
