Khurram Pervaiz, a well-known human rights activist from Occupied Kashmir, has been given the ‘Martin Annals’ award in recognition of his services.

The Martin Annals Foundation presented the award to Khurram Pervez, who is also the head of the Asian Federation Against Enforced Disappearances, for his outstanding services to the human rights of Kashmiris.
Eminent Kashmiri activist Khurram Pervez could not receive the “Martin Annals” award in Geneva in person due to his imprisonment in an Indian prison.
Another human rights activist and campaign manager of the Asian Federation against Enforced Disappearances, Muhammad Ashraf-ul-Zaman, received the award from Khurram Pervez.
After receiving Khurram Parvaiz’s award, Ashraf-ul-Zaman read Khurram Parvaiz’s message and also talked about his hardships in jail.
In his message, Khurram Parvez thanked the award committee of Martin Annals Foundation for giving the award.
He said that although the voice of Kashmiris is not being heard in the world, this award is an acknowledgment of the unheard suffering of Kashmiris for many decades.
Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed said that the event highlighted the violations of human rights in Occupied Kashmir and it was also told in the event how Khurram Pervez, who has been accusing India of baseless accusations for the past 15 months. During the event in Geneva, a documentary on the rights of people in Occupied Kashmir was also screened, which covered the Kashmir conflict.
Chairman Kashmir Council EU said that the manner in which Khurram Parvez’s struggle for human rights was described in this international event and he was awarded the award, will bring recognition to the rights of Kashmiris at the global level.
In the event, it was told what difficulties Khurram Pervez and his team had to go through while working for human rights.
Even before his current imprisonment, he was arrested and barred from traveling abroad.
