Karachi: Baldia Uzma wrote a letter to the Commissioner Karachi on the use of municipal infrastructure by political parties.

The letter requested that political parties be stopped from this practice. A copy of the letter has been sent to Mayor Karachi, Election Commission Sindh, Local Government Department, Secretary Local Government, all Deputy Commissioners.

In a letter written by the Municipal Commissioner Karachi Afzal Zaidi to the Commissioner Karachi, it has been requested that various political parties are using the municipal infrastructure for political purposes by hanging party flags and banners.

According to the text of the letter, since general elections are to be held in the near future, political wall-chalking has also increased. Such use of municipal infrastructure not only creates clutter in the city but also increases the operational costs of the council.

The letter said that all political parties are requested not to use the municipal infrastructure for political purposes and avoid putting flags and banners on street light poles, pedestrian bridges, underpasses and other infrastructure.
