Karachi: Despite the ban on aerial firing on New Year’s Eve by the police, firing took place in different areas in which 6 people were injured.
According to the details, four people were injured in aerial firing in North Nazimabad, Sea View, Liaquatabad and Azam Basti, while according to SSP Korangi, two persons were arrested for aerial firing on New Year.
He said that the two persons were arrested by Korangi police. Also, according to SSP Kemari, an accused was arrested for aerial firing in site area Pathan Colony.
Apart from this, one civilian was also injured in Saeedabad and Clifton Zamzam due to aerial firing. Despite the ban in Karachi, aerial firing and fireworks also took place at 12 o’clock in some areas, in which two people were injured. Korangi police arrested 2 persons on the charge of aerial firing.
The police blocked the roads leading to Seaview by placing barriers. Despite strict police checks and restrictions, thousands of couples and families managed to reach the beach to celebrate the New Year.
