Papers of 116 candidates were approved while 93 candidates were rejected
Islamabad: The final list of candidates was released after scrutiny by District Returning Officer Islamabad.
A total of 209 candidates submitted their nomination papers for the three constituencies of the National Assembly in Islamabad. Papers of 116 candidates were approved while 93 candidates were rejected.
The papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shoaib Shaheen were rejected by all three constituencies while those of eunuch Nayab Ali were accepted.
Yesterday was the final day for scrutiny of nomination papers in Islamabad like the rest of the country. A total of 209 candidates submitted papers for the three constituencies of the National Assembly in Islamabad, out of which 116 candidates were approved while 93 candidates were rejected.

Out of NA 48 to 61 papers, 39 papers were accepted and 22 were rejected. Papers of former Deputy Mayor Chaudhry Rafat, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Syed Ali Bukhari of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf were approved from NA-48.
The nomination papers of Sheikh Ansar Aziz and belonging to Pakistan Muslim League were also approved. Nomination papers of PTI’s Shoaib Shaheen and Jamaat-e-Islami’s candidate Kashif Chaudhry were rejected from NA-48.
A total of 75 candidates submitted their nomination papers in NA-47. 36 were approved by the District Returning Officer while 39 were rejected.
From NA-47, the nomination papers of Chaudhry Rafat, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Zeeshan Naqvi of PML-N, independent candidate Raja Khurram Nawaz, PTI leader Babar Awan, Aamir Kayani of Stabilization Pakistan Party, independent candidate Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar have been approved.
Transgender candidate Nayab Ali will also be able to participate in the election. Shoaib Shaheen’s nomination papers from NA 47 were also rejected. Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Abdul Aziz’s nomination papers were rejected.
A total of 73 candidates submitted their nomination papers in NA-46. 41 nomination papers were accepted by the District Returning Officer while 32 were rejected.
The nomination papers of PPP leader Raja Imran Ashraf, PML-N leaders Zeeshan Naqvi and Anjum Aqeel Khan, eunuch candidates Nayab Ali, Amir Mahmood Kayani, Dr. Babar Awan, Mian Aslam of Jamaat-e-Islami were accepted.
PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen’s nomination papers were rejected. The nomination papers of Chaudhry Shafiqur Rehman of Central Muslim League were approved.
