Nomination papers of Sheikh Rasheed from both constituencies of Rawalpindi were rejected

Rawalpindi: Awami Muslim League chief and former federal interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed’s nomination papers were rejected from both constituencies of the National Assembly.

According to the details, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed had submitted nomination papers on Awami Muslim League ticket from Constituency NA 57 and 56 of Rawalpindi which was rejected by the Returning Officer after the completion of scrutiny.

According to Constituency NA-56 Returning Officer Nazarat Shah, the objections raised on Sheikh Rasheed’s nomination papers are valid, on the basis of which he is rejecting his papers.

He said that Sheikh Rasheed has been found guilty of land fraud, defaulter, false statement in income tax returns, on the basis of which his nomination papers have been rejected from NA-56 constituency.

Earlier, the nomination papers of Sheikh Rashid, Sheikh Rashid Shafiq from Constituency NA 57 were rejected.

On the other hand, reacting to the rejection of nomination papers from both the constituencies, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said that the honorable RO called me to the Commissioner’s office today on an emergency notice of half an hour.

He said that I am ready to pay the money for the allegation regarding the Murree Rest House, there was also an allegation of non-declaration of the title of a land, whatever land I own is in my name. Gave decision in favor of me in case of documents.

Sheikh Rasheed said that he also accused me of tax evasion, till date I have not hidden tax. I was disqualified, I accept the disqualification, I have been a minister many times, why would I commit corruption of 94 thousand.

The head of Awami Muslim League announced that I will file an appeal tomorrow if the nomination papers are rejected, I hope we will get justice from the High Court and the Supreme Court and inshallah NA 56 and 57 will win the pennant.
