Islamabad: During the hearing of the case in the High Court, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb has remarked that does the caretaker government want to derail the elections?
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the request regarding meeting and consultation with Founder Chairman Imran Khan on behalf of Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar and other lawyers. In the petition, the court was requested to allow chairman PTI Gohar Khan to consult with Imran Khan.
The court ordered that a meeting between PTI founder and PTI chairman be arranged under the supervision of the superintendent of Adiala Jail. The court remarked that the right to consultation for elections is a fundamental right. The caretaker government should be neutral in the elections. The opposition in the consultation of former and current Chairman PTI raises questions about the impartiality of the caretaker government.
During the hearing, Additional Attorney General and Superintendent of Adiala Jail appeared in the court. On this occasion, lawyer Shoaib Shaheen took a position in the court that consultation is required for the distribution of 700 tickets of PTI. The court expressed indignation at the opposition of the Additional Attorney General and Advocate General to the admissibility of the application and said, “Was the additional note from the Supreme Court not enough for you?” After the Supreme Court, do you want me to write a note against you?
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb said that the Advocate General and Additional Attorney General’s Office are representing the caretaker government and should be impartial. A terrible system is running under the supervision of the caretaker government that even election consultation is not allowed. Does the caretaker government want to derail the elections?
Later, the court disposed of the petition allowing consultation.
