Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court suspended the caretaker government’s decision to end the facility of giving free electricity units to Pesco officers.
According to Express News, in Peshawar High Court, the hearing of the petition against the termination of free electricity units of Pesco officers was held in front of Justice Khurshid Iqbal.
Six Pesco officers have filed a writ for free electricity supply. The counsel for these petitioners has said that free electricity units have always been provided to Pesco employees, free electricity units have been terminated from December 5 through a declaration, this decision was not taken by the board of directors which is illegal.
It has been said in the petition that the caretaker government does not have the authority to terminate the free electricity units, the declaration of the caretaker government should be suspended and the order for free electricity units should be given.
The court suspended the decision of the federal government to terminate the free electricity units on the request of the officers and sought a response from the federal government and WAPDA.
