Lahore: An objection was filed on the nomination papers of Chairman People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari from Lahore.
Citizen Mohammad Ayaz has objected to the nomination papers of former Foreign Minister and Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari from NA-127 constituency of Lahore in connection with the general elections 2024.
An objection request on the nomination papers of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been submitted to the Returning Officer on behalf of the citizen, in which it has been held that Bilawal Bhutto has shown his affiliation with the Pakistan People’s Party parliamentarians in his nomination papers.
The petition states that Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians are separate political parties. Election symbol of Pakistan Peoples Party is sword and election symbol of Pakistan Peoples Party parliamentarians is arrow. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the Chairman of People’s Party and Asif Zardari is the President of People’s Party Parliamentarians and according to the Election Act 2017 one person can be a member of one party at a time. This is a violation of the Election Act.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s nomination papers will be scrutinized on behalf of the citizen on December 28.
