Islamabad: The government has asked the Election Commission to review the decision to remove IG and DC Islamabad.
A 4-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja heard the case of Ahad Cheema’s removal from office, in which the Secretary Establishment Division appeared before the Election Commission and said that the notification of Ahad Cheema’s removal from office was issued at night. The Election Commission was told that the Ministry of Interior has requested that the Election Commission reconsider its decision regarding these two officers. The Ministry of Interior has said that these two officers should be retained. The Prime Minister has ordered us to change the IG and DC Islamabad on the instructions of the Election Commission. The Election Commission should reconsider its decision to remove IG and DC Islamabad.
