Karachi: Due to fire in Saddar Mobile Market, dozens of shops and the goods stored in them were burnt to ashes, resulting in severe financial loss.
Late at night, a fire broke out in a shop in Shah Jahan Mobile Market, which spread and quickly engulfed many shops. The fire was so intense that it reached the first and second floor shops.
Fire brigade vehicles arrived as soon as the information was received. Officials extinguished the fire by breaking the locks and shutters of the shops. After 5 hours of struggle, the fire was brought under control.
Dozens of shops were affected by the fire. Fire brigade officials suspected that the fire was caused by a short circuit, but the cause of the fire will be clear after the cooling process is completed.
The fire brigade team had to face difficulties in water supply due to the power cut of the fire brigade headquarters for several hours.
President Electronic Dealers Association Rizwan Irfan has said that more than 100 shops were affected due to the fire. There are more than 800 shops on the ground floor of the market. According to preliminary information, 80 to 100 shops and goods worth crores of rupees were burnt.
