Ankara: The artists of Turkey’s showbiz industry collected more than six billion dollars for the rehabilitation of earthquake victims in a relief campaign.
The campaign named ‘Turkey One Heart’ was participated by eight national broadcasters of the country and donations were collected by famous showbiz stars.
Millions of people across the country participated in the nationwide fundraising campaign to contribute and help the survivors of the devastating earthquake.
The seven-hour long live campaign was hosted by the actors of popular Turkish dramas ‘Ertuğrul’ and ‘Korlos Osman’.
More than 9 million mobile messages were also sent to Turkish telecom companies for assistance and various individuals also announced gifts.
On this occasion, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also participated in the campaign by phone and he reiterated his commitment that we will restore all earthquake victims within one year.
