Islamabad: High Court summons DGIB and DGFIA in personal capacity in Audio Leaks case.
The Islamabad High Court issued a written order against the audio leaks of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar’s son Najam Saqib and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi, in which Justice Babar Sattar, DGIB and DG FIA was summoned to the court on February 19, 2024 in a personal capacity.

According to the order, the Attorney General said that the federal government did not allow any intelligence agency to record telephone calls. The Attorney General said that it is important to protect the privacy and rights of all citizens. Who released audio leaks on social media? The FIA has sought time to respond. The court ordered that the FIA submit a report detailing the social media accounts sharing the audio leaks.
In the court order, it has been said that the DGFIA should appear and explain how the surveillance and recording of phone calls can be done. During the hearing, the ISI submitted its report on the audio leaks through the Ministry of Defence, according to which the ISI does not have the technology to determine the source of information shared on social media. The Intelligence Bureau should conduct an inquiry and submit a report on which accounts the audio leaks were shared.
