The accused could not satisfy the FIA authorities regarding the recovered currency
Peshawar: In the action against the reference handi, the accused were arrested after recovering crores of rupees worth of domestic and foreign currency.
According to the spokesperson of FIA, Commercial Banking Circle Peshawar arrested 3 accused of organized gang and recovered domestic and foreign currency worth crores of rupees.
On the direction of Director Peshawar Zone Nisar Tanuli, the crackdown is on against the elements involved in the reference handi and illegal currency exchange. The suspects arrested during the raid include Farhad, Rahimullah and Sahibzada Nauman, who were arrested from GT Road Peshawar and Ashraf Road.
A total of 1 million Saudi Riyals and 6.2 million rupees have been recovered from the accused, with a total value of more than 8 crore rupees. The accused were doing currency exchange business without license. Records related to currency exchange and handi reference have also been recovered in the process. The accused could not satisfy the authorities regarding the recovered currency. Cases have been registered against the accused and the investigation has been started.
