Charged parking is illegal, case should be filed against police, Sindh High Court

Karachi: On a petition against illegal parking in Shahr Quaid, the Sindh High Court directed the DIG Traffic to file a case against the police for the illegal act of charged parking.

In front of a two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi, a petition against illegal charged parking was heard in Shahr Quaid. In which the report was presented to the court on behalf of DIG Traffic.

According to the report of DIG Traffic, charged parking has been created on 46 roads of Karachi. The court remarked that a case should be registered against a person if he/she makes parking anywhere other than the roads designated for charged parking.

The court directed the DIG Traffic to register a case against the police if they are involved in the illegal act of charged parking. The court remarked that the KMC has admitted that the traffic engineering department is dysfunctional.

Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi remarked that Traffic Engineering Department plays a key role in traffic matters. The court directed the Secretary Local Government to implement the court orders.
