A bench comprising Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Mohammad Ibrahim Khan heard against the transparency report. When the hearing started, Transparency International board member Heshmat Habib Malik and lawyers Kamran Heshmat, Buroj Heshmat and Nadia Heshmat appeared in the court.
The Chief Justice asked him where corruption occurs in the High Court, first he should tell us, first tell the High Court, we will clean the judiciary ourselves, then we will talk about the District Judiciary.
Member of Transparency International Board Heshmat Habib Malik told the court that our report is based on public opinion, we took people’s opinion and made the report based on that.
The Chief Justice said that in your report, the judiciary is said to be the second most corrupt, it is causing disrepute, people are making fun of the judiciary, tell us what is called corruption? We will make ourselves accountable where there is a problem, we will fix it, including the Chief Justice, we will take action against any judge who is involved in corruption.
The Chief Justice said that even if there is any defect in me, let me know, by God, I will also write against myself. Even if a judge is involved in corruption, then according to the law, such action will be taken against them that will set an example.
Hashmat Habib Malik said that we have provided the report to the registrar office, you will see the report then the matter will be clear.
Chief Justice said that I will see this report myself.
Later, the court adjourned further hearing of the case till January 15 and asked for a report.
